MBSR Course Information

an 8 week program 

Many of us feel as if the whirlwind of our lives creates unendurable stress and sometimes illness. What if we could, instead, just stop in the middle of the swirl, step outside of it, and see our lives more calmly and clearly?  This 8 week Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program is based on such a liberating view.  MBSR means “Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction”. Mindfulness is a simple, yet profound way of relating directly to whatever is happening in our lives, including the challenges of stress, pain, illness and everyday demands. This course is modeled on the program developed by Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn at the Stress Reduction Clinic at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center.  Kabat-Zinn’s program is evidence-based and is the “gold standard” in such mindfulness training. 

This  8 week MBSR course will be offered at the Perth Physiotherapy Clinic. No yoga experience necessary.

When:  6:30 – 9:00 pm Tuesday October 2– Tuesday November 20, 2018  plus full day (9am – 4pm) on Saturday November 10, 2018

Cost: $350 – space is limited to 15 participants.

Once your application is processed you can pay a $150 deposit to confirm registration.Final payment of $200 due Sept 20, 2018.

The fee includes all print materials and recordings, the eight sessions and the day-long session.

You will attend group sessions for 2 ½ hours, once a week for 8 weeks.  You receive 31 hours of direct instruction. There is also the expectation that you practice daily home assignments for for a minimum of 30 - 45 minutes each day.

Before Sept 15, 2018 deposit refunded minus $50 processing fee.

On or after Sept 15, 2018: no refund.
